Welcome to School Library Learning 2.0
An online learning program for CSLA members and friends
Project Overview
The School Library Learning 2.0 program gives CSLA members “permission to have fun, experiment, and learn” about the new and emerging technologies that are reshaping the context of information on the Internet today. The CSLA 2.0 Team is tasked with modifing the Learning 2.0 program designed by Helene Blowers, Technology Director, Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County.
Unlike the original program, School Library Learning 2.0 focuses on how school librarians can incorporate these tools into classroom and teacher collaborations. The design of this online program was completely built on Web 2.0 technologies that are freely available on the Internet. These sites include: Blogger, Flickr, Odeo, YouTube, PBWiki & Bloglines.
School Library Learning 2.0 will be offered to members of the California School Library Association over the summer, from June 1, 2007 - September 1, 2007. CSLA members who successfully complete the 9-week course will be eligible for prizes and special recognition. Participants interested in getting CE units can do so through a special arrangement with Fresno Pacific University. CSLA friends are welcome to participate, but must join CLSA if they wish to be ineligible for recognition or prizes.
Bottom line: Over the summer months, CLSA members who choose to learn together in this online School Library Learning 2.0 program will be transformed and help one another to become 2.0 savvy by the start of the new school year. For that matter, becoming a member of the CSLA 2.0 Team is a great resume-builder.
2.0 Partners - Some districts, county offices of education, and other groups have expressed interest in using the School Library Learning 2.0 online course as a part of their own professional development efforts. This is wonderful. We have added a section where we can list those educational groups. See also

It’ll be a summer to remember!
LISTS of things to do -- let Jackie know what else needs to be done! :)
